This is the third in the series of Berkutchi from the Betpak dala region of Kazakhstan. As with the previous painting of a Risky Attack, our berkut has made the classic attack and has hold of the muzzle of the wolf, essential for success.
Needles to say the berkutchi is seen still in haste to arrive and assist his berkut, for all is not won until the quarry is subdued.
For me this painting shows in culmination with the previous two, Vadim’s total understanding of the Kazakh’s eaglehunting which can only be achieved with first hand experience.
