Vadim Gorbatov, famous Russian Artist
I really have to confess to have known about Vadim Gorbatov the famous Russian artist for some years, but to my detriment I had not taken enough attention of his paintings or his skill at the portrayal of his subject matter.

It is with enthusiasm that I have at last woken up to the skill and depth of knowledge that Vadim injects into his work. It is a great honor that I am able to offer through Eaglefalconer a limited number of his prints.

Short biography of Vadim and some interesting early photographs.

Vadim was born and lives in Moscow, he studied at the Academy of Art, Industrial Design and Applied Art in Moscow and went on to work for Soviet Television as head of graphics and illustration.
Going freelance in the 1980’s his work has appeared in a number of books and exhibitions throughout Europe and the U.S.A.

In recent years Vadim’s work illustrating the hugely successful children's book Fidget’s Freedom by Stacey Patterson and the coming volumes in the trilogy have brought his work to many homes in the West.

Vadim’s love of falconry history combined with his knowledge of Central Asia, of which he has visited many times, is in part what evokes my admiration for his work. The attention to detail that one of his paintings contains is enough to hold you captivated, let alone the aesthetics and sense of realism of the image.
